Monday Again!

So glad the sun is finally out! Now, I wish it would stay in the 70's!

My house is dirty! I can't stand it, but I refuse to clean it right now. I'm a little less OCD than I use to be. I just wish there was a house cleaning fairy!!!

Oakley got a bath today. Thank goodness. There should be a warning somewhere to tell you that just adding water to an already stank dog will make you gag!

I'm now looking for a part time job. I know selling a house will come soon, it's just not enough right now.

Had a great time last night at Robin & Larry's(MIL & FIL). We celebrated Larry & Jennifer birthdays. Robin made a strawberry cake, DELICOUS, if you want the recipe let me know and I will post it. I gained 3 lbs from that meal! We also had some good laughs:)....Jennifer and her marraige retreat video. I'm sure, Ashley, you know what I'm talking about. Who would've thought we'd be sitting around the kitchen table with Robin watching that!

YAY! I just FINALLY figured out links!

Actually, I didn't do that great over the weekend with my diet....sweets are my weakness! I'm trying to do better today(Evil Robin(jk) sent me home with strawberry cake). I am still working out though and back on a schedule with walking, zumba and pilates.

I'm leaving you with some video funnies. I can't figure out how to post these other than links. HA!

Wally World Shopping Spree

My mom and I went to Walmart and Sams today. I just had to get out of this house! I couldn't afford to buy anything except groceries and such. I just needed to window shop! I decided to check out the clothes at Walmart and I have to say they have come a long way since the last time I checked things out. My mom....just love her....bought me a dress and a shirt, along with some other things. Here they are and were VERY affordable.

I bought Oakley a baby gate today too, I figured that it was a good investment. Maybe someday, God willing, we can use it too when we have a toddler from going down these steps(we live in a split foyer).

YAY! My show is back on!

So glad Samantha Who? is back on. I don't have many favorites on t.v. so I was glad that this show made it to it's second season. Wonder if Samantha & Todd will ever get together again??? I hope so!

Craving handled!

I was craving a Reeses Fast Break candy bar, so I made a compromise with myself. I had a 100 calorie chocolate jello snack cup and a tablespoon of peanut butter. HA! Diets Stink!

A baby someday?

Having a baby has been on my mind a lot lately! I keep telling myself that when God wants it to happen it will. Oakley has helped alleviate some of the motherly nurturing I needed to so desperately give.
You see when I was younger, I always imagined that I would get married and have 2 or 3 babies by the time I was 25. I always wanted to be a young mother. Obviously, that didn't happen. I see people I went to high school with on facebook that already have 3 or 4 kids and think WOW! I know God has a different plan for me....I just have to be patient.
Josh and I got married when I was 26, I had the violinist and flautist play a song God Bless the Broken Road that is sung by Rascal Flatts(you really couldn't hear the melody well during the ceremony that day, HA) because truly Josh was an answer to my prayers and it seemed as if I went down a broken road to get to him! He is my absolute best friend, never did I think a marraige could be like this. He's my cheerleader, my hero, the leader of our family, and a God loving man. I feel like because of him, I am now closer to God.
I tell you all that to tell you this, we decided when we were newleyweds that we were ready to have a family. 3 short months later, in excrutiating pain on a Saturday, Josh rushed home from work and took me to the E.R. where they told me I was pregnant(we were shocked it happened so fast), they told me to rest and to go to the doctor on Monday. The pain subsided until that morning driving to the doctors office. The doctor had no answer for me, but that since I was in so much pain, I would likely miscarry. They would keep an eye on my hormone levels. That afternoon, Josh again at work, I couldn't take the pain any longer and he again came home and rushed me to the E.R. Where I sat & waited it seemed for days and I even asked Josh to take me home so I could die in peace(seriously)! Anyway, that night I had surgery, I had a cyst that had attached to my ovary and was bleeding internally. Also, the pregnancy was in my ovary, hence an ectopic pregnancy.
Since then, we have had no success! I went to the doctor back in October and they told me that Josh and I do work, we worked before, it just didn't have good results.
In all of my thinking lately, did I ever truly give this over to God?? I have prayed about it and I will continue but I'm completely handing it over to you God. Ephesians 3:20 God is able to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine.

Monday blahs!

I can't believe how quiet it is right now in this house. All the animals are sleeping. Oakley and I went and visited my parents tonight, they call him their grandog since Josh and I have not produced a child yet. Oakley was in love with my dad, but had fun with both of them, they gave him tons of attention. I'm working on finding him a sitter when we are on vacation, hopefully my Madre, since she is at home more. But who knows, we may wind up taking the little fella.

I'm daydreaming of vacation! Can't wait for the R&R in Rodanthe!

My ankles are back to normal and I am back on my exercise routine! No more running for me, I think that's what the cause of the swollen ankles were, so just walking, Zumba, and Pilates. Somehow over the past few weeks I did lose more, so I'm down 12 lbs. now.

Have I told you guys lately that I REALLY need to sell a house? Actually let me turn that "a" into several! HA

What would you do if your best friend was dating your brother? Would it bother you? That's the situation I am in right now and yes, it bothers me! I won't go in to full detail, I'm just wondering if I am justified since I confronted the situation today and let my feelings be known....didn't really go so well, which I don't know what I was expecting! UGH! Just frustrated!

Praying for my good friend Tiffany tonight. She is a stay at home mom with a 1 year old and her husband works all the time to provide for the family(he's a fireman too, among a long list of other jobs)! She is dealing with depression from being home by herself all the time(without a car at the moment), a few years ago she was in a car wreck that cut her foot off and has been surgically put back, and she doesn't sleep but an hour or 2 a night. The doctors can't figure out why!! Can you imagine being THAT sleep deprived and taking care of a 1 year old? That's a short version of her bad luck. My heart goes out to her, she's been through a lot in her life and she needs lifting up! She is a very kind and loving person. I felt so bad for her on the phone tonight.

Can you tell I love my pets?.....

Just imagine how I will be if we ever have a baby!:) Things are going really good in the Burgess household. Our lil man gets robbed of his manhood tomorrow....definately think it's for the best! We were wondering how his brother, Kojak, has been since they've been seperated? Pebbles has come out of hiding, but still wouldn't join the family, so I brought her out and sat her on the couch with me and she STAYED!!!!! Even got a pic of it. She's laying on her back now:) This makes me very happy. Momma isn't happy until everyone is happy:) Goodnight and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Leaving you with some pics!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

I didn't even think about wearing green today until we were at Wes'(our neighbors son) ballgame tonight and someone mentioned it and I had it on! YAY!!!!
I remembered today, that back in kindergarten during our nap on St. Patty's Day, they filled our shoes with candy and told us that a leprechaun had come. That just freaked me out. I was never the one to watch the Wizard of Oz or Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory when I was little either because it gave me nightmares!

I had a great day with Oakley today. Either he's getting better or I have more patience:) HA

I've been thinking & praying a lot today about everything and anything! Did you read about Baby Jonah? 2 great days they've had, God is Good!!!

Back to work tomorrow....I REALLY need to sell some houses!:)

Monday......ugh!

So tired of the rain! I didn't know our yard was so filled with mud til we got a dog! The sun IS coming out tomorrow right??? I'm HOPING I am not jinxing myself by talking about this. But Mr. PeePee(Oakley) can hold it in his kennel over night AND 3-4 hours when we are not at home in his kennel, but when he is in the house with us he wants to go out every 15-30 minutes or he will pee in the floor(he prefers our new carpet in the den). Even after 5 minutes today he went and he had just been outside. So he is now on a leash in the house, no more wandering for Oakley and he's got plenty of toys to occupy him! I don't know what is up with this, but if anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears! Could it be the cats? On the other hand, he knows sit but he is learning down & here and doing really well.

In real estate news today, my clients offer bombed! I got a call for a listing, YES, I thought...but wait, he only wanted to overprice it by $150,000!!!

Update**Leash didn't work, I jinxed myself!

A puppy in training.....

Oakley, my sweet dog, half kangaroo, cat terrorist, excited whizzer, and wild buck, he is. Are all puppies this crazy at times I wonder? I told him today we were gonna break him like a wild pony has to be broken! I think he has the dreary weather blues with us, but we had to expend some of that energy, so as of now the basement serves just as well for fetching as outside. He has a mind of his own and can be very stubborn, but he has met his match hopefully with Josh and I(the scorpios we are). I keep telling myself consistency will pay off. Beto is starting to settle somewhat with him, this means he doesn't hiss and swat at him AS MUCH! Pebbles after today...not sure what will happen with their relationship, Oakley was way to curious and lunged onto her...I was NOT happy! Beto is the dominant male pet around here, so she has always been submissive and timid. Bless her heart!:)

We are now a family of 5!

Our first full day with our pup has been eventful.....quite the Kangaroo he is. He is either soooo hyper or very mellow. I prefer the mellow and I know it's just puppy right now:)...hey...at least I can hope. I tried giving him carrots as treats today and he doesn't like those....Ashley spoiled him with the good stuff! haha Pebbles is still hiding. Beto now hisses AND bats at Oakley. We are beginning to think Oakley is trying to herd Beto. Hopefully soon, all the pets will be able to tolerate eachother and we'll be one big happy family.

Made some fabulous chicken tonight, it's actually Josh's recipe, I just revamped it and it's super easy and quick.

Take skinless boneless chicken breasts and cut up into small pieces

Coat Italian dressing on bottom of pan, add 1 tsp minced garlic and some black pepper in pan and heat on medium.
Add chicken and cook until done. The chicken will absorb the italian dressing and make it so tender.

My offer was countered from Tuesday, then they got another offer in today, and my clients countered again. Not feeling good about things:(

Welcome Home Oakley

We are already in love! Josh is in the floor with him now as I am typing. We thank you, Ashley, for thinking of us when you needed to rehome him and promise to be good pet parents!:) We stopped at PetsMart on the way home and everyone that saw him went awwww or had to pet him. He met his Nanny Burgess, Ma & Pa Gentry, Uncle Russy and Neighbor Susan....he's met a lot of people tonight! Pebbles is in hiding and Beto is being Mr. Hissy.....it will just take time.

Just a few things

Did you know?...if you drop your cell phone in water you can put it in a ziploc bag with uncooked rice for 48 hours and the rice will absorb all the water out of the cell phone. Do not turn the phone on til after the 48 hours. It also works with digital cameras. Wish I would've known this when I washed Josh's cell phone last month!

I was mega productive today at work. Did a ton of follow ups on leads and touching base with past clients. Also, wrote up that offer. They are only $50,000 away from asking price. I have prayed about this one, let's hope they are seriously testing the waters. It's a relocation house, so they aren't really offending anyone....I hope.

Beto is running around the house like a crazy kitty, I think he ate too much catnip(kitty crack)

We have to continue to pray for baby Jonah. I am checking the blog daily and everytime I read it, I cry. That poor baby and the pain he's going through. God has a plan, I know, but we still must pray!

Monday Ramblings

This time change has totally messed with me. I need it to be light outside to wake up fully so I can be that morning person I confess to be.

My ankles and feet are swollen. Have been for 3 days now. Don't know what's going on, but Josh has dared me to work out until they are normal again. That just gets me off my routine......argh!

I read in Good Housekeeping, that there is therapy for flying anxiety. It's some type of simulator that a therapist will talk you thru. I wonder if this would cure me, because I would love for Josh and I to be able to travel.

I'm writing an offer on a house tomorrow for a couple, from showing a house 2 weeks ago. YAY!!!!! Please Lord, I know they are going to low ball, but let this offer work out. The Burgess family needs this:)

Our house is popping, it's rather annoying, it only does it in the Spring and Summer when the house heats up.

I've been finding some new recipes. We are trying to cook more around here. 1-To be healthy. 2-To save money. I borrowed my friends Southern Living Easy Weeknight Favorites and it has some great EASY recipes in there. I will be posting when I try them out. If you have any, please share. I get so tired of eating the same thing, I think we get stuck in a cooking rut. I should prepare a weekly menu, so Josh can't sneer his nose up when I start naming things to cook.

Did you hear that it's supposed to be a wintry mix on Friday??......that's pure craziness. This weather is such a tease.

Wednesday, we go to meet an Aussie pup. We've already started preparing for him around here. I've been talking to the cats and telling them the house is big enough for all of us and we have to welcome him and not be hissing kitties. I promised them they still had the bed all to themselves:)

Samantha Who? comes back on Thursday March 26th @ 8:30. Love that show! And if Bret Michaels doesn't give up the search for a girl after this Rock of Love, I'm going to be sick. He's such a horn dog! I use to think he was hot, like early 90's rocker hot, but he's disgusting to me now.......so why do I keep watching?

Did you know???....that Dog the Bounty Hunter is only 5'6"? Yep, he gets his boots in Colorado especially made to make him look taller. For some reason I've always imagined that he would smell like an ash tray and B.O. Weird, I know:)

Weekend gone by!

Sometimes I don't feel like the weekend is any different than the weekday for us because Josh and I both work on weekends, but this weekend was his long weekend. He is off from Winston-Salem F.D. Friday thru Monday.
I should do a better job of taking pictures of things we do, but we worked in the yard Saturday and planted some crepe myrtles that we dug up at Mama Burgess'. Then we went to a baseball game at the Wake Forest field with my neighbors. My neighbor Susan is a hoot and I love hanging out with her. She is a great mom and just a sweet lady! We are going with them on vacay in June.
Today was church, showed 1 house to 2 different couples and both of them liked it, so let's PRAY that will turn into a contract that turns into a closing. I'm needing to see $ signs!!! Then we went and had a steak dinner at one of my bf's, Tiffany home. Her and I lived together for a year when we graduated high school. She is married with a little boy, Wade.
This pic is actually from when Wade was 3 or 4 months old. He's now 18 months and a lil Monkey!

Ashley, if you are reading, Josh is supposed to call you tomorrow:) We are excited about the possibility of a new addition to the Burgess household.

Spring is coming!

I laughed at myself today, as I was in the car seeing little patches of snow on the side of the road and on my feet I am wearing flip flops! I love warm weather, being outdoors and can't wait to start doing some gardening! Already starting on my tan for Rodanthe and just a lil burnt too, oops! I'm on a 3 month countdown to vacay already!!!

Nothing better than a clean house!:) Just wish it could stay this way longer!

Partylite For Sale

I finally received what I bought from the Partylite party. I have no place for it and it was really more than I needed to spend. I'm having buyers remorse. Anyone interested?....I put it on Craigslist today.

Revelations 3:8

When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go. Only 1 of 2 things will happen. Either He'll catch you when you fall, or He'll teach you how to fly! 'The power of one sentence! God is going to shift things around for you today and let things work in your favor. God closes doors no man can open & God opens doors no man can close. Have a Blessed day and remember to be a Blessing...

Winter Wonderland

I was going to take pictures last night on our snow ride but the snow was coming down so hard you could hardly see and our goggles were foggy! It was a lot of fun to get out like that, I love that we live out where we can do things like that. I think snow is most BEAUTIFUL at night!

I am enjoying the scenery today. Josh is at work today, boo, so I'm stuck inside all by myself.

** On a sad note, please pray for baby Jonah, I read this blog this morning and cried. This family needs lots of prayers. Jonah was born with a skin condition, that they do not know how severe it is yet. http://patriceandmattwilliams.blogspot.com **

I Love Sundays and Snow!

Unfortunately, we didn't make it to church today. I feel so guilty when we do not go. The weather was sooo nasty!
We decided to go for visits today, we went and saw PawPaw and my Mom and Dad.
We came home and I made sloppy joe casserole. It's really easy to make and Josh loved it.
Brown your meat, add sloppy joe sauce.
Place pillsbury crescent rolls on bottom of a 13X9 dish
Put meat on top
Add 2 cups cheddar cheese
Place another pillsbury crescent rolls on top.
Bake at 350 for 30 min or until brown.

Now the snow is falling and I have waited for this ALL winter! We are going to ride on our four wheelers with our neighbors in the snow at night! So much fun and BEAUTIFUL!!!
