A Week in Pictures

We are still trying to get on a schedule or in a routine of things. I am exhausted, but feel very fortunate to be able to take an afternoon nap almost every day.  Josh does well without sleep, I do not.  Carly is an easy going baby thus far, we just have to wake up at night for feedings.

We've had a lazy Sunday. Honestly, I will be glad when we can go to church. The Doc has suggested not being in crowds for 4 weeks....a week past her due date...eek!  Anyway, we've had a quiet family day.

Bottle Baby

 We are on to the bottle now.  The lactation consultant said we had to supplement her more.  I've been suffering from engorgement and can't make things happen from pumping.....I'm still trying however. I LOVE the way Josh loves our daughter.  He has been there every step of the way and he is very much involved in her care.

There's No Place Like Home!

Carly has settled in & we are trying to get in a routine which has been difficult.  Nursing isn't going well, they say she is lazy because she was born early so I've been pumping, it's a slow frustrating process. If she would latch things would progress much easier.  Josh has been cup feeding her...it's the cutest thing, she looks like a lil bird when she's drinking.

Happy Birthday Carly!

Carly Kate Burgess was born at 9:57PM weighing 5 pounds and 9 ounces & 19 inches long.

After 10 hours of labor, it was no nice to meet her....although I started having contractions late the night before, they didn't start the pitocin to induce labor til 10AM that morning.  We thought we were in for a long night, but she blessed us with her presence early:) Thank God for epidurals:)

Monday afternoon we left for the hospital to start the induction process.

37 Weeks

YAY! We made it full term!

Pregnancy Highlights:

Size of baby: She probably weighs about 6 lbs. At our ultrasound earlier last week she estimated 5 pounds & 10 ounces.

Total Weight Gain: 24 pounds.

Clothes: Mostly my comfy clothes/pjs since I'm on bedrest.

Gender: It's a Girl!!! Carly Kate

Movement: She's moving around, but running out of room! She gets the hiccups alot!

Sleep: I wake up alot to switch sides, laying in the bed has made me sore.

Cravings: Sometimes I'm starving & other times no appetite.

Symptoms: Indigestion & Hot Flashes.

What I miss: Club sandwiches!!! Josh already knows after Carly arrives, I want a Jersey Mikes club sandwich, McDonalds sweet tea and french fries!

Best Moment this week: Almost time! We are ready and waiting!

Oakley

His favorite spot is in our spare bedroom.  He has taken over the bed and places the pillows where he sees fit.  He got a haircut last week so he won't be shedding like a dog beast when his sister arrives.   Isn't he a cutie, we just love him! 

36 Weeks & A Blogging Break

Pregnancy Highlights:

Size of baby: About the size of a crenshaw melon. She probably weighs about 6 lbs.

I really haven't had that much to blog about since I am on bedrest and that is ALL I do.  I watch tv and have been reading Twilight.  We have been SO BLESSED with visitors and people bringing DELICOUS meals.  My Mom has been my Molly Maid and made it so much easier for me to let things go!  My mother in love has been a personal shopper going out and getting the rest of the things we needed for Carly.  Everyone has been great and we are soooo GRATEFUL!!!  Love you all!
